Canadian tourism: National Parks of Canada

Canadian tourism: National Parks of Canada

National parks are no doubt among Canadian tourism natural jewels. First established to present and protect Canadian representative examples of natural phenomena, these 39 natural regions are wild places that range from plains to mountains, to glaciers and lakes, to tundra and boreal forests, and so on forth.

National parks in Canada just team up to make Canadian tourism an experience to remember. They not only protect the wildlife and habitat diversity unique to the natural regions throughout the country but they also symbolize the power of Canada’s natural setting and also its rich cultural heritage.

Top 5 Canadian Parks

  • tourism candaBanff National Park (Alberta):

Best known for its tall peaks, ice fields, hot springs and glacial carved valleys, Banff is the oldest park in Canada, established in 1885.

  • Georgian Bay Islands National Park (Ontario):

63 islands surrounded by the emerald waters of Lake Huron, this park is renowned for its diverse fauna, flora and wildlife. The impressive Canadian Shield also contributes to the islands variety.

  • Kootenay National Park (British Columbia):

Striking grasslands and glaciated peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains are just part of its spectacular scenery.

  • Prince Edward Island National Park (Prince Edward Island):

Home to barrier islands, sand dunes, cliffs, forests, beaches and wetlands, the park protects and preserves the very fragile sand dune system in Greenwich.

  • Terra Nova National Park (Labrador):

Boreal forests, sheltered coves and the Atlantic Ocean have created a breathtaking landscape, home to the endangered Newfoundland marten, a rare gem when Canadian tourism comes to mind.

Plenty of Canadian tourism recreation opportunities are available at its many national parks. Visitors enjoy beach combing, bird watching, camping and hiking. They can also paddle down lakes or walk through exciting young forests. These experiences are made all the more unforgettable by the activities and exhibits offered everywhere by the heritage tourism industry in Canada. So, why don’t you just come and enjoy with us in the land of the maple tree?
